Carolina Historical Consulting, LLC, is an independent historical consulting firm based in Boone, North Carolina. While many of our clients are located in North and South Carolina, we also provide services in Virginia, Georgia, and Tennessee, as well as more distant locations by special arrangement. Our specialties include commissioned local and regional histories, National Register of Historic Places evaluations and nominations, local historic survey projects, preservation planning consultation, Section 106 reviews, commemorative event lectures and presentations, guest curatorial services for museums, and archival and genealogical research.
We are also engaged on a long-term basis in a very special project as a subcontractor for the US Army Past Conflicts Repatriation Branch, in which we provide genealogical services that assist in identifying and locating living descendants of US Soldiers whose remains have not yet been identified.
Since 2002, our founder and principal consultant, Eric Plaag, has earned an outstanding reputation for conducting meticulous and thorough research while forging strong and fruitful relationships with other history and preservation professionals.
